At St. Mary’s, the SACRAMENT OF BAPTISM is usually celebrated at 12:30 pm on the last Sunday of the month. One month notice is required. Please meet the pastor before you finalize the date for baptism.
BAPTISM PREP is held every second Thursday of the month. Parents who are having their first child baptized must attend the baptism class. Godparents of all children who will be baptized in our church are also required to attend the baptism course. A certificate will be given to all those who attend the baptism class.
Godparents for the Sacrament of Baptism must be Catholics who have have received the sacraments of Eucharist, Confirmation and lead a life in harmony with the faith and the role to be undertaken.

If you are an adult seeking Baptism, you must first enroll in the Roman Catholic Initiation for Adults referred to as RCIA. The Eucharist for Adults

The Eucharist for Children and Teens
Preparation for the Sacraments of Eucharist (First Holy Communion) and Reconciliation (Confession) is included in the religious education program at St. Mary’s school. Children who do not attend a Catholic school must register and attend P.R.E.P. classes. The Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are typically received in grade two. Confirmation for Adults
If you are interested, call the Parish Office at 604-792-2764 or visit our RCIA page. RCIA meets on Tuesday evenings in the Parish Centre starting at 7:00 pm.
Confirmation for Teens
Preparation for the Sacraments Confirmation is included in the religious education program at St. Mary’s school. Children who do not attend a Catholic school must register and attend P.R.E.P. classes. At our church, preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation is a 2-year program that includes Confirmation I and Confirmation II, concluding with the Rite of Confirmation at the end of the second year. The program builds on a background of catechesis acquired in grades 1 to 5.
Confirmation I is intended for students in sixth grade, who have completed grades 1 through 5
Confirmation II is intended for students in the seventh grade. Pre-requisite: Confirmation I.

Couples wishing to marry within St. Mary’s Parish must contact the parish office to arrange for a personal appointment and interview with the priest. Wedding bookings can only be made after this personal interview and must be made at least 6 months in advance.
All couples asking for marriage in the Catholic Church must be adequately prepared. The couple must take the Marriage Preparation Course provided by the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Please call the parish office for more information.
Anointing of the Sick
This sacrament confers a special grace on the Christian who is ill. It can be received each time a Christian falls seriously ill and if, after receiving it, his or her condition deteriorates further. If you or a family member are admitted to a hospital or other care facility and you wish to have a priest visit, please be sure to have someone call the parish office to make this request. Privacy legislation restricts the information that can be given to us by the facility. Please also let us know of anyone who is not able to attend Mass and would like to receive Holy Communion at home.
