Job Description: Evangelization Coordinator

Reports to: The Pastor & the Disciple Formation Leader

St Mary’s Parish wishes to implement a discipleship path, to form and support new & existing parishioners in their relationship with Christ and in their faith community life. We plan on doing this through the mapped out Discipleship Path, which follows a similar structure to Divine Renovation. This Path will inform our ministries' purpose, as well as the direction in which the parish is moving forward.

Job Summary

The role of Evangelization Coordinator is to coordinate the application and success of the mapped discipleship pathway. This will primarily be accomplished through (1) Covering the administration aspect necessary for registrants to be in the right program based on their spiritual journey. As well as finding and reaching out to volunteers to respond to the various tasks involved in making the programs successful. (2) Leading the Alpha Program both in the Fall/Winter and in the Winter/Spring. (3) Making sure that the leaders in Discovery, Alpha and RCIA are mission driven and Faithful, Available, Contagious, Teachable (FACT) and are operating through a multiplying movement mindset, focusing on accompanying future leaders.

Parish Mission and Teamwork

● Engage in prayer and prophetic listening to help lead all parish evangelization initiatives accordingly

● Actively participate in all Parish Leadership team meetings: tactical, strategic, planning, formation, and retreats

● Assist, coordinate, or attend parish events as assigned by the pastor, Disciple Formation Leader, or Parish Leadership team

● Responsible for creating an annual plan for discipleship formation at St Mary’s, presented to the Parish Leadership team and approved by the Pastor and the Disciple Formation Leader

● Work in collaboration with the Disciple Formation Leader towards our Discipleship Path goal

● Communicate with current leaders of Discovery and RCIA ministries to assist them as needed, and to assist them in achieving our main goal

Alpha Coordination

● Contact and coordinate the necessary volunteers for a successful weekly Alpha program

● Invite and train leaders

● Provide resources, accompaniment and formation for leaders

● Form small groups and track participation

● Ensure participants are invited to: (1) Relationship with Jesus (2) Growth in Holiness and Mission

● Promote Discovery and RCIA to Alpha participants

Ministry Leaders and Volunteers

● Ensure that parish leaders and volunteers are Faithful, Available, Contagious, Teachable (FACT). These include but aren’t limited to:

○ Faith study leaders

○ Alpha team

○ RCIA team

● Coordinate missionary discipleship formation for ministry leaders and volunteers

Administration

● Respond to calls, emails and team messages within 48 hours

● Organize the volunteers needed for the success of our Discipleship Path

● Contribute to parish reports, parish bulletin, social media, as requested

● Submit hours worked, vacation requests, and other HR requirements to the Parish Office.

Qualities and Attributes

● Maintain an active spiritual life rooted in a growing relationship with Jesus Christ, committed to personal prayer, reading Scripture, regular confession, and Mass attendance

● Strong familiarity with the Catholic Church’s missionary identity and mission of evangelization

● Comfortable and willing to pray with others

● Desire to contribute to, and be a part of, a fun-filled, engaging work environment

● Servant leadership: leads by serving others

● Relationship management: connect, build and nurture a broad range of relationships

● Strong skills in communicating and identifying where people are at in their faith & mission journey

● Ability to work within a team and receive direction and feedback

● Able to maintain confidentiality in dealing with sensitive information

Experience and Qualifications

● Experience in coaching and mentorship

● Certificate (or equivalent in experience) of leadership

● Previous experience with leading CCO faith studies, Alpha, and other faith

formation programs

● Preferable if candidate has a degree (or equivalent in experience) in Administration

● Salary range: $40,000 - $60,000 (commensurate with qualifications and experience)
