What We Do...
We visit, offer spiritual and emotional support and bring Holy Communion to parishioners who are ill, invalid, elderly or are in anyway unable to venture all the way to St. Mary's church. This ministry is an important aspect of the sacramental life of our parish. This is especially true in light of the fact that there is an unusually large number of elderly members in our community – some homebound, others in rest homes or in the hospital. This ministry requires many dedicated volunteers who are themselves committed to the service of the Church and who are willing to administer the rite of ordinary “Holy Communion Visits" to shut-ins.
In addition to providing Communion when requested, it is the responsibility of these dedicated ministers to inform the parish priests concerning the other sacramental needs of the sick, e.g., Anointing, Reconciliation, etc.
